American Evangelicals approve resolution calling for change in U.S. immigration laws

This past week, American evangelicals approved a resolution calling for Congress to approve changes in U.S. immigration law. The resolution by the directors of the National Association of Evangelicals passed unanimously. The group represents the heads of 40 evangelical denominations. The president of the association said the system for immigrating to the United States must change. The group recommends laws that would provide a path for immigrants to gain legal status, give priority to family reunification and reduce backlogs of such petitions.
