H-1B Cap Count as of April 27, 2010

As of April 27, 2010, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that it has received 16,500 H-1B applications subject to the regular 2011 fiscal year cap and 6,900 H-1B applications subject to the cap's Master’s exemption.

The current annual cap on the H-1B category is 65,000 each fiscal year (up to 6,800 of these visas may be set aside pursuant to the U.S – Chile and U.S. – Singapore Free Trade Agreements) while there is an additional 20,000 visas available to individuals who obtained a master’s degree from a university in the United States.
